Retelling Chinese Stories

In the article “Library of recorded Chinese poems” I said that I kinda stutter when I speak Chinese, it isn’t a major problem but still annoying. The cause of this is because I don’t speak Chinese all that much. For the same reason, I’m also not very good at explaining stuff efficiently. This is normal at my age, but I wanted to improve. Because I was reading a lot of Chinese books (to practice my Chinese reading), I decided after every chapter, I would try to retell the plot in a different way to Cassie or Nicolas. And see if what they understood matches the chapter. It worked out pretty well, in the first few times, I used a lot of unnecessary sentences and words, but as time went on, I got better.

About the books

The books I was reading were not novels, they were a collection of articles/stories written by famous Chinese writers. Most of them are nonfiction, and even the ones that are fiction are very relatable, and not a lot of context is required (Unlike books like Harry Potter, where if you pick a random chapter from a random book without reading the ones before, you will be very confused). Making retelling easier.
